Living in Australia has forced me to learn how to cook. Only a few simple dishes of course.
I can fry chicken with garlic and ginger and some soy sauce. make mince beef patties. cook a beef steak. lamp chop.
cook rice, eggs, french toast, simple veggies...

Just enough to survive without having to spend $8 on a meal (in Australia. Must walk 10min in the freezing cold to buy food somemore).

I guess I'll learn how to appreciate the convenience and the price of Singapore food.

Most people (not married) still live with their families, so how many of you actually can cook?

1) open abalone can with a can opener.

2) place abalone on chopping board.

3) Using kitchen knife to cut the longest mid section into half. From the half cut thin slices of about 2mm, remember to use ruler if you cannot judge the thickness.

4) After cooking your favourite magi mee, place them in a bowl. Spread the sliced abalone in a fan shape placing one slice on top of another, at least 5mm apart.

Walah!! Sliced Abalone with Magi mee

actually its ultra simple.. boil the whole abalone into boiling water for 5 seconds and take it out and marinate it with abalone sauce. For your maggi mee, its goood to cook it soup based with steamed eggs.. haha then you eat together.. your dinner would set you back by about say 50$? haha
