What are your opinions on Patlabor? Any good? The artwork appears terrific.  Huh?

Well, the first and second movies require more thought when viewing than the OVA and TV series. The third movie is set in the Patlabor universe but none of the main characters are from the TV/OVA/first two movies, hence it's more like a side story.

Decent vocal soundtrack, uhm, if you like cops and robbers plus giant robo (think more along Gundam lines than Mazinger/Grandaizer/Getter Robo) and a cast of wacky characters with certain robot fetishes, then Patlabor is for you.

What of the premise of the use of the mecha in Patlabor? Is it plausible?

I take it that you have watched everything Patlabor?

The art books which I have seen are gorgeous.
